Notice period calculator
Calculate the last working day from the date notice is given and the notice length in weeks.
Calculate the last working day from the date notice is given and the notice length in weeks.
Last day = the date notice is given, plus the notice in weeks, minus one day. Four weeks from 1 April is 28 April, because the day notice is given counts inside the period.
The calculator walks forward by calendar weeks. It does not skip weekends, and it does not look up a statutory notice period from length of service. If the contract says one month rather than four weeks, a month is not always 28 days. Count that from the contract, not from this page.
1 April plus 4 × 7 days, minus 1 day.
28 April 2026
Notice given Monday 6 April 2026. One week includes that Monday.
Sunday 12 April 2026
On this page, yes. The last day is one day before the same weekday four weeks later. A contract that starts the clock the next morning will name a different last day. Follow the contract.
The notice pay calculator turns the same number of weeks into a gross amount from the annual salary. It still does not apply a statutory notice table.
Garden leave uses the same end date if the notice length is unchanged. The person is still employed until that day. The calculator does not change the date because they are not coming in.
This counts calendar weeks. It does not apply a statutory notice table.
