Calculate part-time holiday entitlement by pro-rating a full-time allowance against the hours worked.
Calculate part-time holiday entitlement by pro-rating a full-time allowance against the hours worked.
Part-time holiday = full-time allowance × part-time hours ÷ full-time hours.
Holiday entitlement scales with the hours. A person on 22.5 hours against a 37.5-hour week works 60% of the full-time week, so they receive 60% of the allowance. 60% of 28 days is 16.8 days. The days are their shorter days, not full-time days, if the allowance is counted in days. Some policies convert everything to hours to avoid that ambiguity.
Full-time allowance 28 days. 22.5 ÷ 37.5 = 0.6. 28 × 0.6.
16.8 days, which is 60% of full-time
28 days × 0.5.
14 days
No. You enter the full-time allowance the company uses. The calculator scales that allowance. It does not look up a country’s minimum.
Hours are the fair scale when each day is the same length as a full-time day. If their days are shorter, an hours scale and a days scale give different answers. Use the one the policy names.
Scale for part-time hours first, then take that allowance through the annual leave accrual calculator for the months in post.
